CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WORKSHOP STUDENTS!

On August 7th, the Young Audiences of Rochester held their third annual YOUNG FILMMAKERS FESTIVAL. Among the entries screened that evening were two from Animation Workshop students Grant Van Nostrand and Osei Hunter. Grant’s “Adventures of Rob: The High School Freshman” kicked off the evening, and Osei’s “Super Warriors” took the top prize in the animation category. Congratulations to you both!

The PBS series ASSIGNMENT: THE WORLD did a story on the Animation Workshop recently. Several students and their works were featured, including Grant Van Nostrand, Osei Hunter, David Zipeto, Dan Sarnoff, and Eric Foote. TRUE BELIEVER PLAYS IN LOS ANGELES

The L.A. International Short Film Festival will be screening Dave’s latest short in September. In this latest Fresh Toone, the alarm is sounded to beware of the “True Believer.” It blends humor with its stark observations of fanatics past and present.

DERF THE VIKING BREAKS INTO THE THIRD DIMENSION

Animatus artist Chris Kamsler has succeeded in bringing Derf into the 3D world. It began as an experiment, but 3D Derf has taken on a life of his own. He’s more bulbous and rotund than ever before!
