Animatus was pleased to contribute animation to the “RPO Eclipse Spectacular: A Symphonic Celebration,” which played to an audience of 7500 at Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena. In addition to music from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the show featured performances from the Rochester City Ballet, Troupe Vertigo, Madrigalia Festival Chorus, and PUSH Physical Theatre.
The RPO first came to Animatus to ask about creating a one-minute introductory animation. The challenge was to show the moon eclipsing the sun in an artistic and interesting way. Artist Mike Boas considered photographic reference and expressionistic color to create an artistic interpretation of the total solar eclipse using Adobe After Effects.
