In addition to coordinating the Vicki Jenson special event, Animatus is involved with the children&#8217;s shorts program. Plus, Animatus intern Shannon Pytlak has a piece in the R.I.T. Shorts Program. If you&#8217;re a fan of the animated incarnations of Batman, Superman, and Batman Beyond, you may want to attend the panel discussion with Shirley Walker. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica;\">Enjoy! <\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica;\">AN EVENING WITH SHIRLEY WALKER<br \/>\nPresented in conjunction with the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program at the Eastman School of Music <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica;\">Shirley Walker broke industry ground in 1992 by becoming the first woman ever to score a film for a major studio. The film, MEMOIRS OF AN INVISIBLE MAN, featured not only Walker\u2019s music, but her orchestrations as well\u2014and she conducted the orchestra during the recording sessions, a Trifecta not many composers can match! A Daytime Emmy-winner for her scores for the Batman and Superman animated TV series, Walker composed the scores for BLACK STALLION, MAJORITY RULE, ESCAPE FROM L.A., TURBULENCE, and BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM. Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik will moderate the discussion. Funded by a grant from Citibank. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica;\">&#8220;What Happened Was&#8221;<br \/>\nSix special stories brought to life by students from Rochester&#8217;s Charter School of Science and Technology and facilitators from the Museum of Kid&#8217;s Art (MOKA).
